Delia Derbyshire - "Electrosonic" (2008)

Calling all old school Doctor Who fans.

Delia Derbyshire (pronounce "Darbyshire"), that diabolical, mathematical tape-splicing genius who in 1963 built the framework of Ron Grainer's written composition for the theme song to Doctor Who, adding her own swooping, bloopy flourishes here and there. With that, here is a proper start of this blog.

There is her whole fascinating life story which I could write a lengthy manuscript, double-spaced, with scribbly marginalia, and the odd coffee stain... though, I shall refrain from doing so... who really has time for my limited knowledge about Ms. Derbyshire overshadowed by my newfound obsession with her music?

Her work with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop was finally released on compact disc nine years ago.

What are you waiting for, fellow nerds? Get it now!
